What To Do In Edinburgh
Edinburgh is a thriving and vibrant city and there is always
plenty going on - especially during the International Festival
during August/September when the city is alive with visitors to the
many attractions.
Another popular annual event is the Hogmanay Party at New Year when
the city hosts an amazing party in Princes Street.


For The Cultural
Edinburgh has a superb collection of museums and galleries,
including the
Royal Museum and the
National
Galleries of Scotland which always have exhibitions of
international importance. There are several theatres and many
cinemas - see the local press. Many pubs and clubs have live music
in the evenings.

For The Active
Go for a walk in Holyrood Park (right on your doorstep!) or in
one of the other many parks in Edinburgh. There are also many
sporting centres in and around the city.
Meadowbank Sports Centre is just along the road.
Murrayfield stadium is the home of Scottish Rugby and for swimming
visit the Royal Commonwealth Pool.

For The Historians
Scotland's capital city has a rich and varied historical past
for you to explore. The famous castle can be seen on its rocky
vantage point from almost everywhere, reminding you of its
intriguing past. Visit the Grassmarket and walk down the Royal Mile
to Holyrood Palace. To bring you right up to date, just across the
road is the brand new Scottish Parliament building.


For a day out with a difference:
- Visit the
Royal Yacht Britannia, now retired and berthed in Leith.
- Visit South Queensferry and see the famous Forth Railway
Bridge.
- Take a trip to Glasgow, only 45 minutes by train.
