How to get to Eglinton Crescent
(a) By Car
-from the South and from the southern Bypass (A 720):go to the western
end of the A720; at the large roundabout (Gogar roundabout) at the
junction with the A8 - turn right signposted Edinburgh.
-from the Airport: turn left onto the A8 (direction Edinburgh), then
straight through the underpass below the junction with the A720.
Follow this main road straight into Edinburgh past the Zoo on the
left & Murrayfield rugby ground on the right. When you pass a very large
Victorian building with lots of ground on the left (Donaldson’s School)
prepare to turn left; then turn left just before the Apex Hotel into
West Coates Terrace; turn first right into Eglinton Crescent; park where
the first road on the left (Magdala Mews) goes off. The apartment is in
the block at this corner.
(b) By Train
- from the west & north – get out at Haymarket Station; from there it is
a 2 minute taxi ride or a 5 minute walk - turn left; second right into
Coates Gardens; left at the top; the apartment is on the other side of
the road after 20 metres.
- trains from the south & east go into Waverly Station in the centre of
Edinburgh – either take a taxi (10-15 minutes journey) or take a train
to Haymarket Station & then directions as above.
(c) From Edinburgh Airport
- either taxi the whole way (20-30 minutes, may be expensive) or take
the frequent bus service to the centre of Edinburgh and ask to get off
at Haymarket. Then directions as in (b) above.
Please note: The outside door is opened by one of the Yale keys. The
flat door has a mortice lock and a Yale lock with a long thin key.
NB: Parking outside the apartment is for residents only from
8am – 6.30pm Monday to Saturday; during these times the nearest free
street parking is at the far side of Donaldson’s school.
It is allowed to park outside the apartment for up to 5 minutes to
unload.
